Artist Statement
I like to express the complexity of interpersonal dynamics, private thoughts, and emotional contradiction in my art. I’m interested in the layered nature of human connection—how love can coexist with grief, how joy can be threaded with uncertainty, and how intimacy can live alongside distance. I’m obsessed with the in-between. I’m drawn to the unspoken tension between people, the emotional ambiguity that lingers beneath a gesture, and the grey areas that define so much of our internal lives.
Through surrealism, I create worlds where the dreamlike and the familiar collide using symbolism to visualize psychological states that are difficult to articulate. My paintings make visible what is usually hidden under the surface such as the quiet anxieties, tenderness, longing, and doubt that shape our relationships.
