Artist Statement

I aim to express the complexity of interpersonal dynamics, private thoughts, and emotional contradiction in my paintings. As an artist that feels like I often overanalyze my experiences, relationships, and interactions. I’m obsessed with finding a visual language to depicts the tension that can live between people, the emotional ambiguity that lingers inside us as individuals, and the grey areas that define so much of our internal lives.

Through surrealism, I create worlds where the dreamlike and the familiar collide, using surreal imagery and symbolism to visualize psychological states that are difficult to articulate. My paintings bring to light what is usually hidden underneath our surface, such as quiet anxieties, tenderness, joy, longing, and doubt.
